Villagers in Udon Thani Prepare to Welcome Released Thai Worker

Udon Thani: Villagers helped prepare food and a place to welcome Mr. Wutthi Sri-uan, one of the Thai workers who was released, who will arrive home in Udon Thani this afternoon. His daughter said she was happy that she would get to see her father today.

According to Thai News Agency, at Ban Kut Yang, Tambon Tha Li, Amphoe Kumphawapi, Udon Thani Province, Mrs. Wiewwaew Sri-Uan, villagers helped prepare the place and food for guests who would come to welcome Mr. Watchara Sri-Uan, a Thai worker in Israel, her eldest son, back to the family after being held hostage by Hamas for 1 year and 4 months before being released.

One of Watchara's most important supporters is his 9-year-old daughter Ilada Sri-Uan or Nong Nu Dee. Nong Nu Dee said that before her father was taken hostage, they had the opportunity to video chat 2-3 times a month. During the time he was taken hostage, she was unable to contact him. She was worried and missed him a lot. She was happy that she would get to see her father today.

Mrs. Wiewwaew, the mother of Mr. Watchara, said that she was excited and happy to have her son back home safely, especially at first, she did not know his fate, whether he was alive or dead. Even though he was later confirmed to be safe, she could not help but worry and cried every day. Her family is Christian, following their ancestors. Every day, 3 times a day, they go to ask for blessings from God at the Christian church in the village, which inspired her son to survive safely. She would like to thank the media and all agencies that offered to help. From now on, she will not let her son go to work abroad anymore because her father is also sick. At first, she planned to wait to pick him up at home, but Nong Nu Dee wanted to pick up her father at Udon Thani Airport, where he was scheduled to arrive at 2:00 p.m.
