United Power of the Land Leader Firmly Opposes Pheu Thai Prime Minister

Bangkok: "United Power of the Land" leader Phichit Chaiyamongkol has reiterated the group's refusal to support a prime ministerial candidate from the Pheu Thai Party. The group has outlined six specific conditions for forming a new government, emphasizing that the country's crises are attributed to Pheu Thai.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Phichit, also a leader of the United Front for the Protection of Sovereignty, stated that the movement is against allowing Pheu Thai to lead the government. He highlighted that the group's stance stems from a belief that the party is responsible for ongoing national issues. The conditions proposed include the exclusion of a Pheu Thai candidate for prime minister and ensuring constitutional amendments do not affect Chapters 1 and 2.

Further conditions demand the cancellation of MOU 43 and 44 with Cambodia, the proposed extension of real estate lease rights from 30 to 99 years, and the draft amendments of several acts including the Integrated Entertainment Business Act and the Financial Business Center Act. Mr. Phichit criticized Pheu Thai's proposal to dissolve Parliament as an ineffective solution to the crisis.

He stated that the movement would persist until the six conditions are met, emphasizing adherence to parliamentary mechanisms without showing support for any particular party. The rally, scheduled to have key leaders speaking at 6:00 PM, may reveal further plans. Other significant issues, such as the formation of a new government and the Thaksin case, remain under close watch.
