Khao yai: Officials at Khao Yai National Park have intensified their patrols following the discovery of two wildlife poaching cases in the Bu Fai Subdistrict, Prachantakham District, Prachin Buri Province. On the same night, three suspects were arrested, and wildlife carcasses, weapons, and drugs were seized.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chaiya Huai Hongthong, the head of Khao Yai National Park, stated that the first incident occurred at 9:00 p.m. on September 11, 2015. Park officials apprehended two men at specific coordinates within the park, confiscating 15 kilograms of wild boar meat, a machete, a headlamp, two mobile phones, and nine methamphetamine tablets.
Later, at 10:10 p.m. on the same night, a second poaching case was identified. Officials arrested one man in a nearby area, seizing 24.8 kilograms of wild boar meat, including the head, 3 kilograms of macaque meat, an unregistered 12-gauge shotgun, ammunition, a head-mounted flashlight, a machete, and a mobile phone.
All arrests and evidence were recorded at the Forest Resources Conservation and Fire Control Division. The suspects and seized items were then handed over to investigators at Prachantakham Police Station in Prachin Buri Province for further legal action.
