YALA: The Tulip and Lily Festival is underway at Suan Muen Buppa in Betong District, Yala Province, celebrating the month of love and promoting tourism. The event, running from January 24 to February 9, 2025, was inaugurated by Mr. Amphon Phongsuwan, Governor of Yala Province.
According to Thai News Agency, the festival aims to attract tourists to the Betong Winter Flower Garden. Mr. Tohong Sae Lee, Chairman of the Winter Flower Project, along with other officials and tourists, attended the opening ceremony. The event showcases a vibrant display of tulips and lilies in various colors, creating a picturesque environment reminiscent of a floral wonderland.
The Winter Flower Project, initiated by His Majesty the King, features around 4,000 tulip and lily plants in full bloom. The festival is designed to draw visitors to Betong District, offering them an opportunity to capture the stunning floral displays during the Valentine's season.
In addition to tulips and lilies, the festival presents a range of winter flowers, including chrysanthemums, roses, and gladiolus. Visitors can enjoy a sightseeing tram service around the Myriad Flowers Garden. The cool, comfortable climate, with temperatures ranging from 19-22 degrees Celsius, enhances the experience. The garden offers over 80 guest rooms, a restaurant, a caf©, and a sightseeing boat service.
Entrance fees to Suan Muen Buppha vary, with Thai tourists paying 80 baht and foreign tourists 120 baht. Discounts are available for children, seniors, and those with disabilities. Guests staying at the accommodation receive free entry.
Located in Piya Mit 2 Village, Tano Marae Subdistrict, the Betong Winter Flower Garden is the sole winter flower garden in the South, benefiting from Betong's favorable climate and elevation. Nestled in the mountains as part of a royal project, the garden boasts a diverse array of flowers in bloom, attracting visitors eager to experience its unique beauty and cooler climate.
