‘Travel Thailand Half Each’ Initiative to Kick Off in July

Bangkok: 'Travel Thailand Half Each' is set to commence bookings on July 1st, with actual travel beginning on July 4th. The initiative invites Thai citizens to take advantage of the "Half-Half Travel Thailand" privilege, providing government support of up to 3,000 baht per night.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Sasikarn Wattanachan, Deputy Government Spokesperson, announced that the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is advancing the 'Half-Half Travel' project to boost the tourism economy and support local entrepreneurs. A total of 34,005 tourism entrepreneurs have submitted applications for registration via the https://partner.tat.or.th system, with 6,400 successfully verified and registered. The remaining applications are undergoing thorough qualification checks to ensure the project delivers maximum benefits and prevents fraudulent activities.

A crucial aspect of the registration process requires business operators to submit a consent form authorizing Krungthai Bank to verify their information. This step is essential to prevent fraud and ensure only eligible establishments participate. The bank will complete the verification process within approximately three days, after which the information will be sent to TAT for publication on their website by June 30, 2025. Citizens can then book their travel rights starting July 1, 2025, with travel commencing on July 4.

The government has allocated a total of 500,000 travel rights, allowing each citizen to use up to five rights, which are divided into three rights for major cities and two for secondary cities. The maximum accommodation subsidy is 3,000 baht per night per room. For weekdays (Monday-Friday), the government covers 50% of the accommodation cost, while on holidays (Saturday-Sunday and public holidays), the support is 40%. Additionally, participants will receive 500 baht coupons per right to spend at participating restaurants or shops.

Ms. Sasikarn emphasized the project's significance, stating, "The Half-Half Thailand Travel Project is a critical measure to stimulate tourism, generate income for entrepreneurs, and offer Thai people affordable vacation opportunities. We encourage everyone to book their rights, explore Thailand's beauty, and contribute to the nation's economic growth."
