Bangkok: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, addressed questions regarding the possibility of the Prime Minister also assuming the role of Minister of Culture. He emphasized that such a scenario is not to be speculated upon and urged patience until royal approval is granted.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Phumtham commented on the cabinet list submitted for royal endorsement, which reportedly includes the Prime Minister as the Minister of Culture. This arrangement would potentially come into effect if the Constitutional Court accepts a petition that requires the Prime Minister to cease performing his duties. Mr. Phumtham stressed that without royal endorsement, it is premature to make any assumptions about the allocation of roles within the cabinet.
When questioned about whether this situation might mirror that of General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Mr. Phumtham reiterated his stance against speculation. He advised waiting for official royal approval before engaging in further discussions on the matter.
