Trailer Truck Brake Failure Causes Fatal Crash in Nakhon Ratchasima

Nakhon Ratchasima: A catastrophic accident unfolded on Highway 24, Chokchai-Det Udom, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, when a trailer truck carrying cassava chips experienced brake failure, resulting in a deadly crash involving a ten-wheel truck and a pickup truck. The collision led to the tragic death of Mr. Thanakrit, a 55-year-old driver from Buriram, who was trapped in the wreckage of his pickup truck.

According to Thai News Agency, rescue workers from Sawang Metta Nakhon Ratchasima promptly arrived at the scene, employing cutting equipment to extricate Mr. Thanakrit's body and three other injured individuals from the vehicle. The investigation revealed that the trailer truck's failed brakes caused it to collide with the ten-wheel truck. The impact forced the ten-wheel truck to lose control, skidding into Thanakrit's pickup truck, which was traveling normally at the time.

The forceful collision resulted in the ten-wheel truck overturning and crushing the pickup truck, sending it into the median strip. Police investigations confirmed that the trailer truck's brake failure was due to worn-out air brakes, as reported by the truck driver who struggled to control the vehicle.
