Thief Steals Car Left Running at Gas Station in Maha Sarakham

Borabue: A young man's car was stolen from a gas station parking lot in Borabue District, Maha Sarakham Province, after he left it with the engine running to keep the air conditioning on while he ran into a convenience store.

According to Thai News Agency, the incident unfolded when Mr. Phiraphol, 32, left his gray pickup truck, which had a purple and white motorcycle on the back, running as he quickly went into the store. CCTV footage captured a man in a red shirt taking advantage of the situation. He was seen lingering around the vehicle and, after ensuring the coast was clear, he got into the car and drove off.

Mr. Phiraphol was shocked to find his vehicle gone upon exiting the store. He immediately reported the theft to Borabue Police Station and brought reporters to the scene to make a public appeal for information. He recounted that he had stopped to change a battery for a customer at the gas station and decided to quickly buy something from the store, leaving the engine running due to the hot weather. As he was about to pay, he heard an engine noise similar to his own car and realized what had happened.

Witnesses at the gas station mentioned seeing the suspect sitting in the garden area in front of the station but did not recognize him. Some speculated that he might reside in a nearby village. Mr. Phiraphol is urging anyone with information to contact Borabue Police Station, promising a reward for assistance leading to the arrest of the thief.
