Bangkok: "Thanatphong," reserve senator from Group 19, has assumed the role of senator following the Constitutional Court's decision to remove "Somchai" from the Senate.
According to Thai News Agency, this change comes after the Constitutional Court ordered the removal of Mr. Somchai Lenglak due to a Supreme Court ruling that revoked his voting rights for a decade. As a result, the reserve list of Senators was activated, leading to Mr. Thanatchapong Wongmulalee, the first reserve senator from group 19, taking over the position.
Mr. Thanatchapong, representing Maha Sarakham Province, has a diverse professional background. He is a trader by profession and holds a bachelor's degree in Education from Srinakharinwirot University, Maha Sarakham, as well as a master's degree in Public Administration from Bangkokthonburi University. His career includes notable achievements in the business sector, such as reaching the second Emerald Level with Amway and running his own business successfully for over 30 years. Moreover, he has international exposure, having studied in over 10 countries. His political experience includes serving as the secretary of the Consumer Protection Committee of the House of Representatives. Additionally, he completed the 8th Generation of Parliament Assistant and Work Training Course at the King Prajadhipok's Institute on August 24, 2021.
