Thanathorn Supports Prachachon Party’s Call for Parliament Dissolution Amid Political Turmoil

Bangkok: Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit, chairman of the Progressive Movement, has voiced his agreement with the Prachachon Party's call for the government to dissolve parliament in the current state of political unrest. He emphasized the need for politics to return to normalcy, citing a lack of hope and a narrow path for the country's future.

According to Thai News Agency, Thanathorn, who is also a member of the House of Representatives' special committee tasked with evaluating the transfer of military businesses to other agencies, attended a weekly committee meeting where reporters sought his views on the political climate. Thanathorn, however, refrained from discussing the issue in detail, expressing his desire to adhere to the People's Party's guidelines and avoid overstepping their stance.

When pressed for his perspective on the broader political situation, Thanathorn acknowledged the prevalent chaos, echoing the sentiments of many citizens. He expressed a desire for national improvement through a return to political normalcy, suggesting that the current path offers little hope.

Addressing the potential dissolution of parliament, Thanathorn aligned with the People's Party's proposal that dissolving parliament and consulting the electorate would be the optimal approach to resolving the prevailing disarray. He stressed the importance of seeking public opinion to determine the country's future direction.

Regarding concerns about the potential escalation of protests on June 28, Thanathorn expressed no worry, maintaining a composed stance on the matter.
