Bangkok: Thaksin Shinawatra arrived early at the Ratchada Criminal Court, donning a suit paired with a yellow tie, to hear the verdict in the Section 112 case. He embraced his daughter, Pinthongtha Shinawatra Kunakornwong, and waved to the media and supporters from the Red Shirt group before making his way to courtroom 902. Officers from the Phahonyothin Police Station were present to maintain order.
According to Thai News Agency, Pinthongtha Shinawatra Kunakornwong, Thaksin's middle daughter, arrived at the court at 9:20 a.m., parking her car next to the building. Thaksin arrived around the same time, dressed in a navy blue suit, white shirt, and the notable yellow tie. After greeting his daughter, he proceeded into the court building to attend the session in Courtroom 902 at 10:00 a.m., the scheduled time for the verdict.
Regarding security, Police Colonel Marut Sudnongbua, Superintendent of the Phahonyothin Metropolitan Police Station, noted that criminal court officials worked closely with the police station to ensure peace and order. Both uniformed and plainclothes officers were deployed to maintain security, alongside court police and personnel. Additionally, Red Shirt protest leaders had coordinated with investigators to organize a symbolic demonstration of support, with no significant concerns reported by intelligence.
Meanwhile, a substantial crowd gathered in the court's parking area, wearing red shirts and displaying messages of support and images of Thaksin. Supporters came from Bangkok and various provinces. Court police and security staff managed the crowd, keeping them within a designated area to avoid disruptions for the public and officials entering the criminal court.
