Bangkok: Deputy Government Spokesperson reveals that Thailand has won the Top Global Spa and Wellness Destination Award from a famous Indian travel magazine, reinforcing its image as a world-class health and wellness destination.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Sasikarn Wattanachan, Deputy Government Spokesperson, announced that Thailand received the Top Global Spa and Wellness Destination Award from Hospitality Horizon magazine, a notable travel publication in the Republic of India. The award ceremony took place on June 14, 2025, in Mumbai, India.
The award was bestowed upon Thailand by a panel of spa and wellness experts, which included renowned celebrities from India. Thailand's recognition is attributed to its ability to offer a holistic wellness experience that integrates traditional wisdom, nature, and world-class hospitality. This accolade reinforces Thailand's reputation as a leading health and wellness destination, enhancing the value and appeal of its tourism products and services.
Alongside this prestigious award, Thailand is hosting the Thailand Wellness and Healthcare Expo 2025, the largest health and innovation expo in the country. Scheduled from June 26 to 29, 2025, at Hall 101, BITEC Exhibition and Convention Center, the event aims to gather entrepreneurs, businesspeople, investors, and international experts to foster business networks, share knowledge, and explore the latest trends in the health and wellness industry. The expo is expected to generate over 120 million baht in economic activity.
Ms. Sasikarn noted that the government is actively promoting Thailand as a premier health and wellness destination. The focus is on providing comprehensive health treatment and rehabilitation experiences to bolster health tourism. This initiative encourages entrepreneurs to develop diverse activities that align with the global spa and wellness destination standards.
