Thailand and Philippines to Boost Cooperation in Agricultural Trade

Kuala lumpur: Thailand and the Philippines have expressed a mutual interest in enhancing cooperation concerning agricultural products. The dialogue took place during a bilateral meeting between Thailand's Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Anutin Charnvirakul, and the President of the Philippines, Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr., on the sidelines of the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits. According to Thai News Agency, the meeting was held at the KLCC Convention Center in Kuala Lumpur, where both leaders discussed the potential for increased trade, particularly focusing on Thai agricultural products. The President of the Philippines took the opportunity to express his condolences on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother of Thailand, acknowledging the significant loss for the Thai nation and recalling his family's previous audience with Her Majesty. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul conveyed his gratitude for the sentiments shared by President Marcos Jr. and expressed his deligh t in meeting with a close ally and important partner. The Prime Minister also confirmed Thailand's support for the Philippines as it prepares to assume the ASEAN Chairmanship in the coming year. The discussions highlighted the desire of both nations to strengthen their supply chains and exchange experiences in fields such as tourism and medical hubs. Emphasis was also placed on collaboration in the digital economy to enhance the economic potential of both countries.
