Nakhon ratchasima: The Thai women's volleyball team expressed satisfaction with their victory over the Philippines in the 2025 CV League, Field 1. Despite losing a set, the team emerged victorious in their first match of the tournament held at Terminal 21 Korat Shopping Center.
According to Thai News Agency, the 2025 CV League Women's Volleyball Tournament, Field 1, is in its fifth consecutive year with participation from four ASEAN countries: Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Philippines. The Thai team, donning red shirts, faced the Philippines in their opening match, drawing a large crowd of volleyball enthusiasts from Korat and neighboring areas.
In the initial set, the Thai team struggled, trailing throughout and eventually losing 17-25. However, they rebounded in the subsequent sets, securing three straight wins with scores of 26-24, 25-20, and 25-20, culminating in a 3-1 victory. Pimpichaya Kokram, known as "Beam," led the team with 18 points.
Post-match, players Pornpun Kerdprach and Ajcharaporn Kongyot acknowledged the Philippines' strong performance in the first set and attributed their own mistakes to the loss. They emphasized teamwork and corrective efforts in the following sets, which led to their success. While pleased with the performance, they identified areas for further improvement.
Head coach Kiattipong Rachata-kriangkrai, referred to as "Coach Oat," had some players practice immediately after the match to address errors, particularly in serving. He anticipates a better performance in their upcoming match against Indonesia.
The tournament continues to attract vibrant support, with local fans from Korat engaging in lively dances and cheers. The Thai women's team is set to face Indonesia in their next match at 5:00 PM, following the clash between Vietnam and the Philippines at 1:30 PM.
