Thai-Lao Pair Arrested for Transporting 120 Heroin Bars in a Bus

Chiang rai: Police arrested a Thai-Lao pair transporting 120 bars of heroin on a bus headed to Bangkok. Police at the Pu Kaeng Checkpoint, Phan Police Station, Chiang Rai Province, under the direction of Police Major General Manop Senakul, Commander of Chiang Rai Provincial Police, and Police Colonel Chitrak Palakawong Na Ayutthaya, Superintendent of Phan Police Station, stopped a bus traveling from Chiang Rai to Bangkok and found two men acting suspiciously. They requested to search the luggage, finding two wheeled suitcases containing a total of 120 heroin bars. Officers then apprehended the two suspects: Mr. Han, 26, from Muang Yai Subdistrict, Wiang Kaen District, Chiang Rai Province, and Mr. Yeer Vang, 29, a Laotian national. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects obtained the drugs from Ban Pa Yang Mon, Mueang Chiang Rai District, Chiang Rai Province, with their destination in Bangkok. The investigation is currently underway, expanding into all aspects.

According to Thai News Agency, the Chiang Rai Provincial Police Commander revealed that this arrest is a major drug case and that further investigation will be conducted to link related networks.
