Bangkok: The Royal Thai Army has sanctioned the addition of Thai flag patches on the uniforms of its personnel during training and field operations to display their identity as Thai warriors until the border situation stabilizes. This decision comes amid efforts to enhance military morale, as demonstrated by a recent "field decoration ceremony" conducted by the 162nd Infantry Battalion.
According to Thai News Agency, the approval allows the Thai national flag to be worn on the left shoulder of training and field uniforms. This move is aimed at reflecting the identity of Thai soldiers, fostering ideology, patriotism, and unity, and expressing the honor and dignity of all warriors. The flag patches will remain on the uniforms until the border situation returns to normal or further directives are issued.
The 2nd Army Region's Facebook page shared images of the 162nd Infantry Battalion's ceremony, where insignia were awarded to personnel stationed at the Thai-Cambodian border. This ceremony served to boost morale and reinforce the battalion's role in safeguarding the nation's sovereignty and its people. The battalion commander reiterated the dedication of its members to serving the nation, religion, monarchy, and the citizens.
