Summer Storm Causes Extensive Damage in Lampang, Houses and Schools Affected

Lampang: A summer storm hit Saem Ngam District, Lampang Province, causing significant damage as many houses were damaged and roofs were blown off.

According to Thai News Agency, the storm brought thunderstorms and strong winds to various areas of Lampang Province, with Serm Ngam District being particularly affected. In Ban Sri Lanka, Village No. 5, Serm Klang Subdistrict, and Village No. 10, strong winds lasting almost half an hour resulted in trees crashing onto houses, electric poles blocking roads, and some houses being blown down. Additionally, roofs were torn off, with some houses losing their entire roofs, while garages were destroyed and fell on cars. At Sri Lanka Wittaya School in Sri Lanka Village, the entire awning roof at the front of the building collapsed.

In the aftermath of the storm, villagers began cleaning up the area, although some required assistance from agencies due to the scale of the damage. Machinery was needed to clear large trees and remove debris. Village leaders conducted initial surveys to assess the extent of the damage.
