Bangkok: The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has informed investors that it will be closed on Monday, June 2, 2025. This closure extends to the Market for Alternative Investment (MAI), the Futures Exchange, and the Live Exchange.
According to Thai News Agency, the SET's closure is due to an additional special holiday announced by the Bank of Thailand and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). This decision aligns with a Cabinet meeting resolution from November 12, 2024, which approved two additional special public holidays for 2025, including June 2 and August 11. An additional special public holiday has also been designated for January 2, 2026.
The introduction of these holidays aims to create extended public holidays. This initiative is expected to stimulate travel, positively influencing tourism and the broader economy. It supports the policy of designating 2025 as the year of tourism and sports in Thailand, under the theme "Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025.
