Trang: The shooter who ta rgeted "Kamnan Len," a prominent figure in Nawong Subdistrict, has confessed to carrying out the attack due to personal vengeance. The suspect is currently in custody, and bail has been denied as authorities continue their investigation. According to Thai News Agency, the arrest was announced at a police press conference in Huai Yot District, where officials detailed the capture of Mr. Thawatchai. He is accused of murdering Mr. Bandit, known widely as "Kamnan Len," on August 3rd. Mr. Bandit was not only the headman of Nawong Subdistrict but also served as the president of the Huai Yot District Headman and Village Headman Association. After an investigation pinpointed Mr. Thawatchai as the suspect, an arrest warrant was issued on August 8th. The charges include premeditated murder, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, and carrying a firearm in public without a permit. A coordinated effort by multiple police units discovered Mr. Thawatchai's location, leading to a raid and his subsequent arrest in a rented room in Sala Dan Subdistrict, Koh Lanta District, Krabi Province. The case was resolved within 18 days. During the arrest, the suspect admitted to all charges, attributing his actions to unresolved personal resentment. In court proceedings today, Mr. Thawatchai was presented for a first detention hearing at Trang Provincial Court, where investigators opposed bail. As he was escorted to his vehicle, Mr. Sompas, his father, reassured him by saying, "It's okay. Don't think too much about it. Don't even think about escaping."
