Bangkok: The Stock Exchange of Thailand index recovered after the afternoon session, supported by stocks in many industry groups, closing at 1,256.48 points, down 15.62 points.
According to Thai News Agency, the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) reported that the SET Index closed at 1,256.48 points, marking a decrease of 15.62 points or 1.23% from last Friday. The afternoon trading session saw a recovery due to an increase in stock prices across various industry groups, including agriculture and food, financial business, real estate and construction, industrial products, and resources. Excluding the movement of stock prices for DELTA and AOT, the SET Index saw an increase of over 15 points, aligning with trends in regional stock markets.
In the morning session, the SET Index initially fell by 2.5%, primarily influenced by a decline in DELTA's stock price following reports of lower-than-expected earnings. Additionally, AOT's stock price dipped due to news related to a concession contract, although further clarification was provided by the company this morning.
The Stock Exchange of Thailand advises investors to closely monitor news and information from reliable sources, analyze all factors, and exercise discretion in trading decisions to suit the prevailing market conditions.
