Bangkok: A significant accident occurred in the middle of the night when a young man driving a sedan collided with three other sedans, resulting in injuries to seven individuals. The driver was incoherent at the scene, leading police to question him and conduct an alcohol test.
According to Thai News Agency, the crash took place around 2 a.m. at the U-turn at the entrance of Soi Ram Intra 61 on Ram Intra Road, outbound, in the Bang Khen District of Bangkok. Police from Khan Na Yao Police Station and rescue workers responded swiftly to the scene. The accident involved a yellow MG sedan, identified as the cause of the crash. The vehicle, bearing a Bangkok license plate, sustained severe damage, including a dislodged left wheel and deployed airbags. Four occupants in the car were injured and transported to a hospital, while the driver, Songklod, 37, was unharmed. Songklod admitted to returning from an entertainment venue on Pradit Manutham Road and was en route to his home in Hathai Rat when the incident occurred. He expressed his intention to take responsibility for the accident.
The three other vehicles involved included a black Honda Civic, which suffered damage to its left door and lost its front left wheel and side mirrors. The driver of this vehicle was injured and hospitalized. A white MG also sustained minor damage to its left door, with the driver experiencing slight injuries. The third vehicle, a white Honda Civic, ended up on the sidewalk after being hit, with its rear right wheel dislodged. The driver of this car also suffered minor injuries. A total of seven people were injured in the accident.
The police investigation revealed that the yellow MG sedan was initially heading towards Min Buri when it rear-ended the white Honda Civic, propelling it onto the sidewalk. Subsequently, the yellow MG spun and collided with the black Honda Civic and the white MG, which were both making a U-turn, causing substantial damage. The authorities coordinated with a tow truck to clear the wreckage and invited Mr. Songklod for questioning to ascertain the cause of the accident and to assess his alcohol level.
