Bangkok: Urgent efforts are underway to identify a benefactor believed to be a Thai national living abroad, connected to the case involving "Sergeant M, Fleet". Authorities are focusing on unraveling the financial connections and have issued a red notice to involve Cambodian police in locating the informant who provided critical information.
According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Lt. Gen. Siam Boonsom, Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, stated that investigations are being expanded to trace financial transactions and scrutinize the mobile phone data of Sergeant M. Forensic officers are examining this data, which will be forwarded to the investigation division for further analysis, aiming to uncover links to other individuals.
The benefactor, suspected to have hired Sergeant M, remains unidentified as the latter has not provided useful information. Investigators believe this benefactor is a significant figure, potentially a Thai national residing abroad. However, any political connections or motives behind the incident are still being investigated.
Additionally, Mr. Kim, a Cambodian national implicated as the informant, is now subject to a red notice issued to the International Police. This notice seeks the cooperation of Cambodian authorities to detain and extradite Mr. Kim to Thailand for prosecution.
