Bangkok: Sergeant M Kongruea was detained while wearing body armor and a bulletproof helmet, with security provided by Arintharat 26 along the route. He maintained an indifferent expression throughout the process.
According to Thai News Agency, Chana Songkhram Police Station investigators escorted Mr. Ekkalak, also known as Sergeant Em Kongruea, to the Ratchada Criminal Court seeking permission for his initial detention. Mr. Em, dressed in a blue T-shirt, black bulletproof vest, helmet, and black pants, remained calm and refrained from responding to media inquiries. Ensuring his secure transfer, the Arintharat 26 unit accompanied the motorcade to the court.
Earlier in the day, Sergeant Em's mother and sister attempted to visit him, bringing along a meal of pork fried rice, pork basil, and a bottle of water. However, the police sergeant at the cell informed them that Mr. Em declined both the visit and the offered food.
Pol. Col. Atthaphon Wongsiriprida, Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 1, disclosed that the Chana Songkhram Police Station's investigation officer objected to granting bail for the suspect. The concern was that he might tamper with evidence, necessitating his immediate imprisonment. During further interrogation, Mr. M provided no new information. Despite this, the police continue to pursue the investigation, particularly focusing on identifying the benefactor, whose identity is now known but remains undisclosed. Authorities are in the process of gathering substantial evidence to decide on issuing a summons or arrest warrant.
