Samut Prakan Residents Vote Enthusiastically in Provincial Elections

Samut Prakan: Samut Prakan residents cast their ballots in lively fashion for the Provincial Administrative Organization elections. The atmosphere of the Samut Prakan Provincial Administrative Organization election this morning was lively, even though some businesses and factories were open as usual today.

According to Thai News Agency, the election field for members of the provincial council and president of the provincial administrative organization of Samut Prakan, which has 1,076,123 eligible voters from 36 constituencies and 1,556 units, was vibrant. At the Bang Kaew Municipality Sports Center, Village No. 8, Bang Kaew Subdistrict, Bang Phli District, polling units 13-18 saw large numbers of people coming to exercise their rights, with some queuing up since before the ballot boxes opened at 8:00 a.m.

Meanwhile, a citizen who came to vote shared that businesses were still operating as usual, but he prioritized exercising his voting rights before heading to work.

Mr. Saeng Boonmee, Secretary-General of the Election Commission, noted during his visit to observe the election in Samut Prakan Province that he would monitor voter turnout and whether labor groups received any assistance from employers. Nationwide, the morning saw no election law violations, except for one incident in Sisaket Province where an elderly voter tore up a ballot due to a misunderstanding. The target voter turnout is no less than 65 percent, with unofficial election results expected by 10:00 p.m.
