Sales Employee Arrested for Fatal Stabbing of Coworker in Ratchaprasong Mall

Bangkok: Police immediately arrested a salesperson at a famous department store in the Ratchaprasong area who used a knife to stab a coworker to death.

According to Thai News Agency, at 10:00 PM yesterday, Pol. Lt. Nontacha Saengsom, Deputy Inspector (Investigation) at Pathumwan Police Station, received a report that someone had been stabbed to death in a famous shopping mall in the Ratchaprasong area, located on Rama I Road, Pathumwan Subdistrict and District, Bangkok. He coordinated with forensic officers and volunteers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation to inspect the scene.

The incident took place inside a health food store on the 5th floor of the shopping mall. The victim, Mr. Prayot, aged 40, was found lying on his back with six stab wounds on the left side of his chest. Despite officers' attempts to administer first aid, he later succumbed to his injuries. Police have apprehended the suspected assailant, Mr. Sorasak, aged 27.

The initial investigation revealed that the deceased and the suspect were acquaintances and colleagues. However, police are in the process of questioning Mr. Sorasak to gather more detailed information regarding the incident.
