Bangkok: The Royal Thai Army spokesman has emphasized the importance of monitoring unusual drone activity, particularly near military units. This week, the focus has been on ensuring that drones do not attempt to fly close to military installations operated by both the Army and Air Force.
According to Thai News Agency, Major General Winthai Suvari, the Army spokesman, stated that the recent investigations into unusual drone flights identified these drones primarily as surveillance tools rather than as destructive devices. However, given the potential security threats, the military is maintaining vigilance over both military and other government areas.
Further investigations have indicated that these drones are not being forced from Cambodia. Instead, they are possibly being operated by networks that evade detection by authorities and are clandestinely deployed within Thailand, particularly near military installations. This includes facilities belonging to the Royal Thai Army, Royal Thai Air Force, and other key strategic locations, thereby necessitating increased attention to this issue.
