Royal Thai Army Closes Chong Sai Taku Checkpoint to Enhance Security

Buriram: The Royal Thai Army has announced the closure of the "Chong Sai Taku" checkpoint to ensure public safety. An army spokesman explained that Army Region 2 has decided to close the trade relaxation point at Chong Sai Taku in Buriram Province, aligning this action with the current security situation in the area.

According to Thai News Agency, the Army Spokesperson Team has stated that the 2nd Army Area will implement the closure of the trade relaxation point at Chong Sai Taku, Buriram Province, starting from 21 June 2025. This decision is part of the ongoing measures to address the security situation along the Thai-Cambodian border.

The Royal Thai Army has been managing the opening and closing of all types of border crossings in regions under the responsibility of the Burapha Force in Sa Kaeo Province, and the Suranaree Force in Buriram, Surin, Sisaket, and Ubon Ratchathani Provinces. These measures have been in place since 7 June 2015, ensuring they are in line with the security needs of the area.

The latest announcement confirms the closure of the trade relaxation point at Chong Sai Taku, located in Tambon Chanthaburi, Amphoe Ban Kruat, Buriram Province, effective from 21 June 2025. In light of this development, the Royal Thai Army urges the public to stay informed about the situation in their respective areas.
