Bangkok: An appointment to purchase cryptocurrency turned into a brazen robbery as five men escaped with 3.4 million baht in cash from the second-floor parking lot of a well-known shopping mall in the Lat Phrao area, Chatuchak District, Bangkok. The incident unfolded when the group, armed with guns and knives, seized the cash and fled the scene in a grey Honda Civic, bearing the license plate Kor Kor 1116 Nakhon Sawan. The suspects reportedly made their escape along Asia Road.
According to Thai News Agency, the victim had arranged to meet the group to buy cryptocurrency. However, instead of a transaction, the criminals stole the cash and made a quick getaway. In response to the incident, the Phaholyothin Police Investigation Division is reviewing CCTV footage and is actively pursuing the suspects to bring them to justice.
