Bangkok: The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior has disclosed that the revocation process of the Alpine Golf Course land is currently being examined by the Deputy Permanent Secretary, with no set timeline for completion. It was emphasized that the revocation process is not under the authority of Mr. Chada and holds no legal effect at this point.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Arsit Sampantharat, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, addressed reports concerning Mr. Chatcha Thaiset, the former Deputy Minister of Interior, who allegedly signed an order to revert the land ownership of the Alpine Golf Course back to temple land. Mr. Arsit clarified that the matter is presently with Mr. Chamnanwit Terat, the Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior and Head of the Internal Security Mission Group, who is tasked with deciding the course of action.
Mr. Arsit further explained that Mr. Chada was not required to make any judgments on the matter. Despite reports suggesting otherwise, Mr. Chada's role might have involved offering suggestions, but any detailed examination of facts was still needed. As Mr. Chada was overseeing the Land Department at that time, his involvement was limited to discussions or inquiries, without necessitating his signature on the revocation.
When questioned about the legal weight of Mr. Chada's comments or inquiries, Mr. Arsit clarified that they were not legally binding but were more concerned with tracking the progress of the work. The decision to revoke or not rests solely with the Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior.
Mr. Arsit also mentioned that the timeline for a decision depends on the Deputy Permanent Secretary's careful consideration, as he is responsible for acting in accordance with the law. The matter is not urgent, and a thorough review is essential to ensure a rightful course of action is taken.
