Rangsiman Invites Key Figures to Clarify Ties with Ben Smith Before House Security Committee


Bangkok: Rangsiman Rome, a party-list MP for the Prachachon Party and chairman of the House of Representatives’ Committee on State Security, Thai Border Affairs, National Strategy and Reform, has sent a letter inviting Capt. Thammanat Prompao, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Minister of Education Narumon Pinyosinwat, Mr. Wara Sucharitakul, Vice Chairman of Finansia X Public Company Limited, and Mr. Woraphat Thanyawong, former Deputy Minister of Finance, to provide information to the House Security Committee regarding their involvement with Ben Smith. Rangsiman emphasized the importance of their presence, stating that failure to appear would mean missing a critical opportunity to clarify their positions.



According to Thai News Agency, Rangsiman addressed the House of Representatives’ meeting, urging Capt. Thammanat and Minister Narumon to attend the session scheduled for October 30th. He highlighted that the matter is of global significance and expressed surprise at the lack of action from government agencies despite widespread knowledge of the involved politicians. He insisted that the individuals invited must personally provide clarifications, as the issue cannot be delegated to others.



Rangsiman stated that the responses to the invitations are expected soon, and stressed the importance of direct engagement from the invited parties. He assured that the committee is determined to uncover the facts, emphasizing that this situation is not merely a national issue but one that has international repercussions. He noted that the individuals involved are being monitored globally, and urged them to address the public’s questions if they choose not to attend.



He also addressed comments from the Prime Minister, noting that government agencies already have information on the individuals involved. Rangsiman expressed his willingness to cooperate with the Prime Minister and emphasized the importance of resolving the issues surrounding the scammer problem. He questioned the lack of action from government bodies, despite having ample information on the situation.



Rangsiman further criticized the slow response from the Anti-Money Laundering Office and called for proactive measures. He highlighted the need for the government to address the underlying issues and questioned the credibility of those attempting to undermine his efforts. Rangsiman reiterated his commitment to serving the national interest and challenged the Prime Minister to take decisive action.
