Tata Young Remembers Honorable Moment Serving at Asian Games

Bangkok: Tata Young is proud to have served at the opening ceremony of the Asian Games, and she tells her children about it with tears in her eyes. Tata Young opened up about her deepest feelings for Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, and recounted the honorable moment she had serving at the opening ceremony of the 13th Asian Games, held on December 20, 1998, at Rajamangala National Stadium. She said, “It was an infinite honor to have had the opportunity to serve Her Majesty.”

According to Thai News Agency, Tata Young was heartbroken upon hearing the news of the passing of Her Majesty the Queen Mother, learning the news around 2 a.m. She believes many people feel the same way, having grown up with Her Majesty and witnessed her throughout her life. The singer went on to say that as soon as she heard the news, she thought back to the day she sang a song dedicated to His Majesty, King Rama IX, and Her Majesty the Queen Mother. It was the most memorable moment of her life, as she was able to represent the nation at a very special event. After receiving the clip from a fan that was recorded that day, she immediately played it for her son, Ray, who proudly said, “I’m so proud of you, mom.” But she told him, “Don’t be proud of me, son. It’s my honor to serve you.”

Tata also revealed that respect must be given because many things present are created by His Majesty. She emphasized the importance of parents sharing this information with their children. Before making a resolution, she stated, “I will be the best Thai person. I am proud to be born as a Thai with a King like this.”

Before updating after vocal cord inflammation caused her to temporarily take a break from singing, Tata mentioned, “I’m feeling better. It’s not anything serious anymore. Everyone doesn’t need to be afraid. I’ll try to take care of my voice as best I can and am now back practicing singing again. I’ll use every stage to remember His Majesty’s grace. I’ll sing with all my heart to remember His Majesty.”
