Pattaya: 3 young men snatch a woman's bag, within 8 hours the whole gang is arrested. The incident, which took place in the vibrant city of Pattaya, unfolded when three young thieves targeted a group of Russian tourists, snatching a bag amidst the bustling streets of Soi Wat Bun Kanchanaram 8.
According to Thai News Agency, the tourists, who were visibly shaken, reported the crime to the Pattaya City Police Station. They recounted how the teenage assailants approached them on a motorcycle during their walk back to their accommodation and swiftly made off with two mobile phones and 4,500 baht. The tourists were able to provide photographic evidence of the stolen bag, which aided the police in their swift investigation.
Police officers launched an immediate operation, using radio communications to intercept the suspects along the anticipated escape route. They diligently reviewed CCTV footage and pursued leads based on the descriptions provided by the victims. Their efforts paid off when they located the suspects hiding in a house in the same area where the crime occurred. The officers managed to recover the stolen bag and the motorcycle used in the crime, although not all the stolen cash was retrieved.
The investigation identified the suspects as Mr. Frame and Mr. Bank, both 16, and Mr. Tae, 18. Mr. Tae admitted to initiating the crime, explaining that he spotted the tourists and prompted his accomplices to snatch the bag. The stolen money was partially spent on kratom juice and marijuana prior to their arrest.
The police recorded the arrest and have taken the suspects to Pattaya City Police Station for further legal proceedings.
