Bangkok: PM accepts Chinese leader's praise for Thailand's decisive decision to solve call center problem, ready to set up a joint working group, vows not to care about Myanmar people protesting, points out that the government must take care of its own people, says "I am the Prime Minister of Thai people."

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, the Prime Minister, gave an interview about her visit to China and discussions with the Chinese President regarding the crackdown on call center gangs. She noted the positive reception from China, highlighting that the Chinese President commended Thailand's decisive actions on this issue.

When asked about China's role in supporting the suppression of call center gangs, the Prime Minister indicated that both countries will collaborate intensively. A joint working group between Thailand and China is being established to address this global issue, and further discussions will take place within this framework.

Regarding domestic measures, the Prime Minister mentioned the need to assess public response and outcomes after implementing measures like cutting water and electricity. She emphasized the priority of protecting Thai citizens' interests, despite protests from Myanmar. She reiterated her responsibility to prioritize Thai citizens' welfare.

In response to potential resistance to purchasing Thai products, the Prime Minister stated that the government would deliberate on the specifics. Regarding Mr. Thaksin Shinawatra's comments about the 25th floor in Poipet, Cambodia, and citizenship revocation discussions, she noted that these matters would be addressed during her upcoming official visit to Cambodia.

The Prime Minister shared a light-hearted moment with reporters, comparing the cold weather in China to the warmth in Thailand. Upon returning to Thailand, she was warmly greeted by her family, with her husband, Mr. Pitak Suksawat, and their children welcoming her at the airport.
