Bangkok: The private sector is urging the government to expedite measures to stimulate spending, particularly on automobiles, following a sharp drop in sales. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Industry is preparing to organize the "Shop and Enjoy, Walk and Check in Lampang" Industry Fair 2025, scheduled for October 2-6, 2025.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Suwat Suphakandechakul, President of the Thai Automotive Industry Association, stated that the overall economy has significantly impacted car sales. If the government stimulates purchasing power, enabling consumers to spend, including purchasing cars, this will boost sales figures. He has consistently suggested to the government that he would like to see measures to entice consumers, or campaigns, to stimulate purchasing power. This can be achieved through a variety of means, such as offering better prices or enticing consumer incentives.
The Ministry of Industry, in collaboration with the private sector, Sahapat Inter-Holding Public Company Limited, a subsidiary of Sahapat Group, and the Automobile Association of Thailand, announced plans for the mega-event, "Shop and Enjoy, Walk and Check in Lampang," Industry Fair 2025, to be held from October 2-6, 2025, at the Northern Industrial Exhibition and Convention Center. The fair will feature quality, affordable products aimed at reducing the cost of living, including clothing, food, and consumer goods from the Sahapat Group and Thai SME entrepreneurs nationwide, along with the Mind Motorshow, showcasing the right car and the right deal. The event is expected to stimulate year-end spending by over 200 million baht.
Dr. Nattapol Rangsitpol, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, revealed that the Ministry of Industry has integrated cooperation with public and private sector partners, including Saha Pathana Inter-Holding Public Company Limited, a member of the Sahapat Group, and the Automobile Association of Thailand, to organize the "Industry Fair 2025: Shop and Enjoy, Walk and Check in Lampang" from October 2-6, 2025, at the Northern Industrial Convention and Exhibition Center. This event serves as another market testing venue and expands distribution channels for Thai SMEs and community enterprises. Furthermore, factory operators will have a direct distribution platform to consumers, generating additional income and building consumer confidence in quality and fair-priced Thai industrial products. This will allow consumers to access quality products at reasonable prices, reducing the cost of living and stimulating the national economy by over 200 million baht during the middle of the year.
