Bangkok: The Prime Minister reiterated the government's position on "medical cannabis" only and declined to answer media questions about expanding the drug case to networks in Cambodia. According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister Paethongtarn Shinawatra addressed the government's stance on free cannabis following a call from Prachachat Party MP Sukarno Matha to return cannabis and kratom to narcotics status. She emphasized that it is already a policy of the Pheu Thai Party to focus on medical cannabis and assured the public that efforts would be made to ensure cannabis plants are used solely for medical purposes. When questioned by reporters about the possibility of extending the drug bust operations to include networks in Cambodia, the Prime Minister chose not to respond. Instead, she promptly exited the Ministry of Justice building, entered her vehicle, and departed the scene.
