Bangkok: The Prime Minister has announced a brief period of sick leave on June 13, following her participation in the closing ceremony of the 2025 World Ambassadors and Consuls General Conference. The break is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister Paethongtarn Shinawatra will preside over a policy presentation at the conference's closing ceremony, which is set to take place at The Athenee Hotel, Witthayu Road, Bangkok, at 10:00 a.m. on June 13, 2025. Following her official duties, the Prime Minister will take a short sick leave as documented and communicated to the Secretary-General and the Cabinet.
The sick leave was announced during a Cabinet meeting on June 10, 2025, where it was communicated that the Prime Minister would be unavailable from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on June 13. The Cabinet Secretariat has circulated this information to all ministers. The provisions under the Prime Minister's Office Regulations on Civil Servant Leave B.E. 2555, Section 41, allow for such leave to be at the discretion of the Prime Minister with notification to the Cabinet, which has acknowledged the leave.
Reports indicate that Prime Minister Paethongtarn Shinawatra will attend a meeting of parents during this time and will subsequently resume her responsibilities at Government House.
