Prime Minister Paethongtarn Shinawatra Leads Cabinet Meeting Ahead of ITB Berlin 2025 Departure

Bangkok: The Prime Minister led a cabinet meeting before flying to Germany to attend the ITB Berlin 2025 tourism promotion event. He asked to wait for clarity on the MotoGP contract extension after the meeting.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, chaired the Cabinet meeting at Meeting Room 501, Building 1, Government House, which was postponed from Tuesday, March 4, because the Prime Minister had a mission to attend the tourism promotion event ITB Berlin 2025 in Berlin, Federal Republic of Germany, from March 3-8, 2025.

Before the meeting, reporters asked about the contract extension for hosting the MotoGP race, which in 2026 Thailand will host the final season of the race if the contract is not extended. The Prime Minister said, 'After the cabinet meeting, there will be details about this matter.' The Prime Minister then immediately went to the cabinet meeting.

For today's meeting, an important agenda is to review the Cabinet resolutions on 26 March 2019 and 15 December 2009 regarding the school milk management system.

Requesting approval for the project to take fishing boats out of the system for the sustainable management of marine fishery resources, requesting support from the central budget for the project to procure a set of Royal Rainmaking Formula 3 (dry ice) for fiscal year 2025, and requesting the allocation of the annual expenditure budget for fiscal year 2025, central budget, reserve funds for emergencies or necessities for the implementation of the Maha Songkran World Water Festival 2025 project, etc.

In addition, it is expected that the case of the extradition of Chinese to Xinjiang Uygur Province will be reported by Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Pol. Col. Thawee Sodsong, Minister of Justice, and Mr. Maris Sengiampong, Minister of Foreign Affairs, in the cabinet meeting.

For today, there are 4 cabinet members who have requested leave from the meeting: Mr. Maris Sengiampong, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Surawong Thienthong, Minister of Tourism and Sports, Mr. Songsak Thongsri, Deputy Minister of Interior, and Mr. Suchart Chomklin, Deputy Minister of Commerce.
