Bangkok: The Prime Minister, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, has denied rumors circulating about her meeting with Mr. Newin Chidchob at the Pullman Hotel. She emphasized that her plans did not include such a meeting, clarifying that she intended to return home to see her child, having been occupied all day without time to follow the news.
According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister was responding to media inquiries regarding speculation that former Prime Minister Mr. Thaksin Shinawatra was scheduled to meet Mr. Newin Chidchob, chairman of Buriram United Football Club, at the Pullman Hotel in Bangkok. This was purportedly to clear the air, and questions arose about whether Ms. Paethongtarn would also attend. She firmly stated, "I won't go. I'm going home to see Nong Thaksin."
When asked if Mr. Thaksin would be going to the Pullman Hotel, she expressed her doubt, saying, "I don't think he will."
In response to inquiries about the veracity of the news, the Prime Minister questioned the nature of the news itself, expressing that she had not seen it and requested to be informed next time.
The Prime Minister chose not to address questions regarding Mr. Thaksin possibly engaging in talks with Mr. Newin, or whether discussions between the Pheu Thai Party and the Bhumjaithai Party were necessary, as she did not hear the questions before getting into her car and leaving the scene.
