Bangkok: The Prime Minister opened the Bangkok Pride Festival 2025, expressing pride that Thailand has enforced the law on equal marriage this year. The government remains committed to ensuring equal rights and freedoms for all individuals. "Love being yourself, no need to care, when we don't hurt anyone," the Prime Minister stated.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, presided over the opening of the Bangkok Pride Festival 2025 at Thephasadin Stadium. This event, celebrating the 4th Pride Month, was organized under the theme "Bom This Way."
The Prime Minister expressed honor in participating in this year's Pride, marking the third year of her involvement. She noted the growing vibrancy and support from the government for freedom, rights, and individuality. The event's theme, "Born This Way," emphasizes the right to personal authenticity and government protection. The Prime Minister highlighted the significance of the newly enforced law on equal marriage, extending congratulations to Thailand and its citizens. She encouraged everyone to enjoy the festival, be themselves, and embrace individuality without harming others.
Following the opening, the Prime Minister joined the parade from Thephasadin Stadium to Siam Center shopping mall. She was accompanied by Pheu Thai Party MPs, including Ms. Jiraporn Sindhuphrai, Mr. Paopum Rojanasakul, Ms. Thirat Samretwanich, Ms. Khattiya Sawasdiphol, Dentist Sriyada Palimaphun, and Mr. Pongkawin Juangroongruangkit.
The event attracted significant public attention, with many attendees taking photos and selfies with Ms. Paethongtarn. She was dressed in a silver metallic outfit with a white ruffled collar, reflecting the festive spirit of the occasion.
