Prime Minister Declines to Address Husband’s Undeclared Share Sale

Bangkok: The Prime Minister declined to answer questions about her husband selling shares in MWP Company without declaring his assets to the NACC, saying that this matter is sensitive and asked to be put aside for now. Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, revealed the case of Mr. Pitak Suksawat, her husband, selling 16,500 shares of MWP Company Limited but did not declare the assets to the National Anti-Corruption Commission or NACC. She asked the media back if she was Prime Minister at that time. The media replied that in August 2024.

According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister turned to ask the cabinet whether they had fully explained the matter to the parliament and did not want to answer yet because it would be too sensitive. He asked to leave it for now.

As for how the capital market will be developed after the draft royal decree amending the Securities and Exchange Act is issued, the Prime Minister said that this is another overall economic plan to see how we can help each other. As for whether he will travel to inspect the stock market or not, there is currently no plan. We will have to go soon.
