Nakhon Sawan: The Prime Minister granted a lease contract for royal land to the people of Nakhon Sawan.
According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister presided over the awarding of lease contracts for the royal property "Thanarak Eua Rat" to 1,081 Nakhon Sawan residents. He expressed satisfaction that the initiative enabled Thai people to secure food, money, dignity, and a stable living environment without the threat of eviction.
Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, led the ceremony for the fiscal year 2025 lease contract awards at the multipurpose seminar and exhibition building of Bueng Boraphet, Nakhon Sawan Province. The event was part of the Treasury Department's "Land lease contract, changing people's lives" project, involving Crown Property plot number Nw. 339 in multiple districts of Nakhon Sawan Province. Ms. Jiraporn Sindhuphrai, Minister to the Prime Minister's Office, and Mr. Paopum Rojanasakul, Deputy Minister of Finance, were in attendance.
Upon arrival, the Prime Minister reviewed the Treasury Project steps and visited an exhibition. That day, 1,081 individuals received lease contracts for royal land-220 for residential use and 861 for agricultural purposes-covering approximately 19,466 - 0 - 67 rai.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of these leases, highlighting that they would provide homes and farmland, offering peace of mind and stability to the recipients. He expressed his hopes for a prosperous future where citizens utilize land effectively to benefit Thailand. The government aims to award at least 5,055 lease contracts during the fiscal year 2025, with these rights transferable to heirs. The Prime Minister also addressed social issues, particularly the drug problem, and noted that legal land ownership could aid in rehabilitation by providing new livelihood opportunities.
Mr. Paopum Rojanasakul explained that the government and the Ministry of Finance are committed to optimizing state land management for public benefit. The Treasury Department aims to resolve housing and land issues, allowing citizens to enjoy food, money, dignity, and honor. Crown Property underused by government agencies will be leased at concessional rates to eligible individuals, thereby improving their quality of life and access to services.
During the event, the Prime Minister personally distributed lease contracts, interacted with attendees, and accepted garlands of marigolds. Residents expressed their gratitude and relief upon receiving the land.
