Prime Minister Anutin Inspects Flooding in Ang Thong Province via Boat

Wiset chai chan: Prime Minister Anutin took a boat to inspect the flooding in Wiset Chai Chan District, Ang Thong Province. He revealed that this year's water situation is better than last year's, having been prepared since becoming Minister of the Interior, despite being gone for two months. He distributed relief bags to flood victims on both sides of the canal, bought a boatload of morning glory to eat with laab, and bought red-tailed carp and released them in the river. He was embarrassed by being teased that he was more handsome in person than on TV. He was pleased with the return of the "Half and Half" program, generously scanning and paying 2,000 baht to provide drinks to villagers.

According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Anutin Charnvirakul, along with his wife and entourage, arrived at the Thai Red Cross Vejphahan Chaloem Phrakiat Pier in Wiset Chai Chan District to board a boat to visit flood victims and distribute relief supplies. While inspecting the water level of the Noi River and visiting residents along the banks, the Prime Minister gave a thumbs-up to riverside officials and waved to residents in homes on both sides. Some members of the public also waved and gave the thumbs-up to the Prime Minister's entourage. The Prime Minister then stopped to distribute relief supplies to residents and stated that the water level situation was improving.

People also took pictures of the Prime Minister on his boat trip to visit the people. A villager was also rowing a boat selling morning glory. The Prime Minister beckoned for the boat to dock and inquired about the price, which was 10 baht per bunch. The Prime Minister declared it a bargain. He then bought all the morning glory for 1,000 baht, saying he would eat it with laab (minced meat salad). The Prime Minister also stopped to buy red-tailed carp from the villager who was rowing the boat and released the fish into the river himself.

The Prime Minister then revealed that this year's flooding was less severe than last year, as preparations had been made since the beginning of the year. While he remains the Minister of the Interior, even though he has been gone for over two months, it has not had any significant effect.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister and his entourage boarded a boat at Wat Bang Chak, where they were greeted by the public. At this point, the village health volunteers gathered around to compliment Mr. Anutin, saying he was more handsome in person than on TV after teasing him that he had met his ex-girlfriend. Before that, they sang the village health volunteer song together, clapping in support. During some parts, when he didn't finish singing, the Prime Minister joked that he had worked so hard to find a budget for him, and that if he couldn't sing, he would be left with 1,200 baht, which made the village health volunteers laugh in good spirits.

The Prime Minister then stopped to buy iced coffee from a vendor selling it in a pickup truck. He also bought a truckload of drinking water, including soft drinks and mixed drinks, and told them to give it away to villagers visiting the temple. The vendor quoted the entire truckload as being 2,000 baht, and the Prime Minister scanned the payment himself using his phone. The vendor expressed concern about drug use and expressed delight in being part of the "Half-Half" scheme.
