Vientiane: Prime Minister Anutin has arrived in Lao PDR. He is preparing for a full meeting, a courtesy call on the country's president, and a meeting with the Thai team and the Thai private sector.
According to Thai News Agency, at 9:00 a.m. local time in Vientiane, which is the same time in Bangkok, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and his wife, Thananon Niramis, led a delegation of executives, including Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Atthaphon Rerkpiboon, Minister of Energy, Ms. Suphajee Suthumpun, Minister of Commerce, Lt. Gen. Adul Boonthamcharoen, Deputy Minister of Defense, Mr. Songsak Thongsri, Deputy Minister of Interior, and Ms. Traisulee Traisaranakul, Secretary-General to the Prime Minister, arrived at Wattay International Airport in the Lao People's Democratic Republic. They were welcomed by Mr. Bouakhong Nammavong, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister's Office of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, as Minister of Honor, and the Lao delegation.
This visit to the Lao PDR marks the Prime Minister's first official foreign visit since assuming office. It also marks a special occasion marking the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Lao PDR. The Prime Minister will attend an official welcome ceremony at the Lao PDR Prime Minister's Office before meeting with Prime Minister Sonxay Siphandon. On this occasion, the two leaders will witness the exchange of memorandums of understanding and the handover of aid to Lao PDR. Following this, the Prime Minister will pay a courtesy call on President Thongloun Sisoulith of Lao PDR.
In the afternoon, the Prime Minister will hold a meeting with the Thailand team and the Thai private sector in Laos, and will visit the museum and pay homage to That Luang.
On this visit, the Prime Minister of the Lao PDR and his wife will host a dinner in their honor, reflecting the close friendship between Thailand and Lao PDR, extending from the people to the leaders of the country.
