Sa Kaeo: The Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the encouragement received from the public, assuring that she will do her utmost to tackle pressing issues such as border security, call center scams, and the livelihoods of citizens. However, she refrained from commenting on any progress regarding a potential cabinet reshuffle.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, the Prime Minister, visited Surasinghanat Camp accompanied by her entourage. The visit included a meeting with approximately 600 officers from the Volunteer Defense Corps and village security forces, where she was welcomed by Mr. Chaiwat Junthiraphong, the Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration.
During her address, Ms. Paethongtarn expressed her pleasure at visiting Sa Kaeo Province once again. She highlighted the major issues being faced, namely border concerns, transnational crime, and the activities of scam groups. The government, she assured, is acutely aware of these challenges and is particularly concerned about the impact of call center gangs and border issues on people's lives. By engaging directly with citizens, the government aims to identify areas where it can provide additional support.
The Prime Minister extended her gratitude to community leaders and security personnel, including village headmen, guards, police, and soldiers, for their collaborative efforts in ensuring the safety and well-being of the populace. Emphasizing the importance of this work, she acknowledged the dedication and hard work of those involved in safeguarding communities.
Ms. Paethongtarn also shared her intention to offer encouragement during her visit but found herself receiving encouragement instead. With gratitude, she reassured that her administration would strive to meet the needs of the community, supported by officials from the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Commerce, and the Governor of Sa Kaeo. She invited community members to voice their needs to relevant authorities who are prepared to provide assistance.
Before departing, the Prime Minister faced inquiries from reporters regarding the completion and submission of the cabinet list for royal endorsement. She chose not to respond and promptly left the scene.
During her visit, reporters observed that Ms. Paethongtarn engaged with a vendor outside the camp, inquiring about the goods for sale and purchasing items to support the Defense Volunteers. Her interaction included buying fried chicken and noting the vendor's report of recent quiet sales, despite them being normal. The Prime Minister concluded her visit by indicating her imminent return home.
