Bangkok: Deputy Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau explained the execution of a motorcycle thief because the thief was about to shoot first. The execution followed tactics, as the thief attempted to shoot the officer first. The case is divided into 4 cases to ensure fairness for all parties.
According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Maj. Gen. Noppasin Poolsawat, deputy commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, revealed the progress of the case of a motorcycle thief who was executed by a detective from Khan Na Yao Police Station. He said that this case started from 4-5 motorcycle thefts in the area of ??Khan Na Yao Police Station. Therefore, an investigation was conducted until it was found that the 2 thieves were dressed in the same clothes as the day of the incident today. On February 3, the 2 thieves went to steal a motorcycle in Soi Khubon 13 and parked it under the Chalong Rat Expressway at 6:00 a.m. and took the motorcycle away at 10:00 a.m. of the same day.
Later, on February 10, these two perpetrators committed a motorcycle theft in Soi Nawamin 52. The investigation division of Khan Na Yao Police Station therefore ambushed at the scene because they suspected that the perpetrators would park the motorcycle there. When the incident occurred, the perpetrators actually came to park the motorcycle there. The police therefore revealed themselves and arrested Mr. Suphat, aged 27. However, the other perpetrator turned an unknown gun at the police and forced Mr. Suphat to release him before getting on the motorcycle to ride away. The police then fired three shots, one bullet hitting Mr. Suphat's left thigh, one bullet piercing his helmet and the other bullet missing, causing Mr. Suphat to die at the scene. The other perpetrator rode away on his motorcycle, wearing long pants, a black long-sleeved shirt, and a black full-face helmet. He rode a black Yamaha X-Max motorcycle with an unknown license plate. From the current investigation, it is found that he is still in the Metropolitan Police area.
For this incident, it followed the tactics and legal procedures. There is evidence from CCTV footage that shows that the perpetrators tried to harm the police first. The police therefore had to shoot in self-defense. The Commander of Investigation, Metropolitan Police Bureau, has already explained this matter to the relatives of the deceased perpetrators.
This case must be separated into 4 cases: Case 1 is the autopsy to find the cause of death. Case 2 is the police killing the criminal. Case 3 is the police's self-defense. Case 4 is the criminal's theft of a motorcycle.
