Kuala Lumpur: Prime Minister discusses with ADB Chairman to strengthen SMEs and all dimensions of Thailand through financial innovation tools, confirms readiness to promote and support sustainable and inclusive growth in the region. Today at the KLCC Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, met with Mr. Masato Kanda, President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister congratulated Mr. Masato Kanda on assuming the position of President of the Asian Development Bank on 24 February 2025. She also expressed her congratulations on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the ADB Representative Office in Thailand. The Prime Minister conveyed her gratitude for the assistance and support provided by ADB, particularly in terms of loans and technical assistance extended to both the Thai public and private sectors.
During the meeting, Mr. Masato Kanda, ADB President, acknowledged Thailand's collaboration with ADB as pivotal in initiating new cooperation towards mutually beneficial objectives. These objectives include addressing climate change, enhancing green finance, and advancing the digital economy.
