Phu Kradueng: More than 150 houses in Phu Kradueng District, Loei Province, have been flooded following continuous rainfall. The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation has issued warnings about potential flash floods and overflowing riverbanks along the Phong River. This situation is impacting the areas of Tambon Phu Kradueng and Tambon Si Than, prompting authorities to advise residents to relocate their belongings to higher ground and move vulnerable individuals to safer locations. According to Thai News Agency, the flooding has affected three sub-districts in Phu Kradueng District, with the waters rising rapidly since the rain began on May 25. The Phong River's swift rise has led to the overflow and inundation of homes situated along its banks. The convergence of the Phong River, originating from Phu Kradueng District, and the Phong Ko River, flowing from behind the park, has exacerbated the situation. This combined flow passes through Phan Ngo Subdistrict, a border area between Loei and Khon Kae n Provinces, resulting in several roads being rendered impassable. At Phan Ngo Community School, teachers have taken precautionary measures by allowing kindergarten students to return home and aiding in the relocation of school supplies to higher ground, as the school is situated at a low point with the Phong River behind it. The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation continues to emphasize the urgency of moving possessions and vulnerable groups to safe locations while the threat of further flooding persists.
