Pichet Awaits Cabinet Formation to Discuss Second Deputy Speaker Role

Bangkok: "Pichet" is awaiting the completion of the cabinet formation before arranging discussions with the whips of both parties regarding the appointment of the second deputy speaker of the House of Representatives.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Pichet Chueamuangphan, the first deputy speaker, emphasized the importance of knowing which parties will be part of the government coalition before proceeding with the selection. He expects that discussions with party whips will occur soon, ideally before July 15, to determine the timeline for selecting the new second deputy speaker.

Mr. Pichet has clarified that the selection of the second deputy speaker is not exclusively a Pheu Thai Party matter and that all parties have the right to be involved. He mentioned that the decision ultimately lies with the government whips who will determine the appropriate course of action.

Regarding the draft bill on entertainment complexes, Mr. Pichet noted that while there seems to be a postponement, it remains on the agenda. He explained that the decision to postpone is subject to consensus within the parliamentary chamber. If objections arise, further discussions will be necessary. Mr. Pichet is focused on addressing issues systematically, prioritizing the country's needs above all.
