Bangkok: Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, led the ceremony to present the 10th Award for Organizations with Excellence in Financial and Fiscal Management for the fiscal year 2023. The awards were given to agencies that excelled in financial management across five dimensions: procurement, disbursement, government accounting, internal government auditing, and freedom from tort liability.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Pichai praised the awarded agencies and highlighted the importance of proper procurement management and efficient payment systems. He also emphasized creative auditing and safety, linking these practices to Thailand's membership in the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). He asserted that the awarded agencies play a crucial role in driving efficient and modern management practices, expressing his hope that all agencies will continue to develop in both quantity and quality for sustainable progress.
In the fiscal year 2023, a total of 74 awards were distributed to 37 agencies and 17 provinces. The awards aim to enhance the overall efficiency of financial and treasury operations within government agencies. They serve as a recognition for agencies that manage budgets effectively and transparently, promoting the successful execution of planned operations.
