Pheu Thai Sets Up Team to Safeguard No-Confidence Debate Rules Amidst Opposition Tactics

Bangkok: Anusorn Eiamsa-ard, a party-list MP from the Pheu Thai Party, has revealed that a dedicated team has been established by Pheu Thai to protect the procedural rules during the no-confidence debate meeting. The team aims to counter what is perceived as the opposition's strategic move to focus the debate solely on Prime Minister Paethongtarn Shinawatra, potentially leading to chaos and protests.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Anusorn expressed concerns that the opposition's singular focus on the Prime Minister seems to be a deliberate attempt to disrupt the no-confidence debate. He suggested that the opposition might engage in rule-breaking, sarcasm, or actions intended to provoke protests. The success of the debate may be measured not by the quality of arguments or evidence presented but by the ability to provoke or cause disorder within the House. Such tactics could be aimed at creating negative narratives on social media, thereby discrediting the government and swaying public opinion in favor of the opposition.

The Pheu Thai Party's team is prepared to address all perceived corruption tactics. Mr. Anusorn emphasized that genuine political innovation stems not from age but from attitude and mindset. He criticized outdated political strategies, referring to them as indicative of 'young old people'-individuals who are not necessarily old but adhere to antiquated political practices. He also pointed out that the public's preference to hear from Gen. Prawit Wongsuwan over several Prachachon Party MPs signifies a need to analyze the current political dynamics.

Reflecting on campaign promises, Mr. Anusorn mentioned the seeming contradiction in the opposition's stance. During the election, the opposition claimed they could not coexist with certain political figures, yet they now find themselves debating alongside them, raising questions about their commitment to campaign promises.
